The short version. If you join the ÆON waitlist we store your email address, and nothing else about you. We use it to send you the download link, and to send occasional product updates only if you separately ask for them. We set no cookies, run no advertising trackers, and never sell or rent your address. The ÆON demo runs entirely inside your browser — no audio ever leaves your device.
ÆON is developed and distributed by Ætherform ("we", "us"), an independent project operated by its founding team. We are the data controller for the personal data described below. You can reach us at support@aetherform.org for any question about this policy or about your data.
We collect personal data in exactly one place on this site: the waitlist form. Nothing else on the site asks for, derives, or transmits information about you.

We use this data for two separate purposes, each with its own legal basis:
If you do not tick the optional checkbox, we will only use your email to deliver the download link. We do not collect any other personal data through this site, and we do not build a profile of you.
The interactive demo on this site runs entirely inside your browser. The audio engine is compiled code that your browser downloads and executes locally. We never request microphone access, no sound is ever recorded, and nothing you do with the demo — the gestures you make, the sounds you produce, how long you stay — is transmitted to us or to anyone else.
The introduction film is served from our own servers. There is no YouTube, Vimeo, or other embedded player on this site, so watching it sends no request to any third party. The file is not downloaded until you press play.
When you submit the form, your data travels to a small program we operate on Cloudflare's network, which passes it to Brevo (Sendinblue GmbH), our email service provider. Both act as our data processors under a Data Processing Agreement. We do not keep a separate copy anywhere else.
This site is also hosted on Cloudflare. As with any web server, Cloudflare processes technical connection data — including your IP address — to deliver the pages and to protect the site from attack and abuse. These logs are short-lived, we do not use them to identify or track visitors, and the legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and secure, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
If your data is processed on servers outside the EU, those transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
If you opt in to updates, we record your email address, the date and time of sign-up, the state of the opt-in checkbox, and the version of this policy you accepted, so that we can demonstrate your consent was freely given. If you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, we record that date too.
This is why the version number appears at the top of this page: it lets both of us know exactly which text was in force when you signed up.
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Once you unsubscribe, we retain the minimum record needed to prove that consent was given and withdrawn, and to make sure we do not contact you again by mistake.
If ÆON is never released, or the waitlist is discontinued, we will delete the list and tell you we have done so.

To exercise any of these rights, write to support@aetherform.org. We will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — in Italy, the Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali.
The entire site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and your form submission is encrypted in transit. The credentials that let our system talk to Brevo are held server-side and are never present in the pages your browser downloads. Access to the subscriber list is limited to the people who need it.
No system is perfect. If we ever suffer a breach that is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify the supervisory authority within 72 hours and inform you directly, as Art. 33 and 34 GDPR require.
ÆON is a professional audio tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their data, write to us and we will delete it.
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and raise the version number at the top. For changes that materially affect you — a new purpose, a new processor, a longer retention period — we will tell you by email before the change takes effect, and ask for fresh consent where the law requires it. We will never apply a new purpose retroactively to data you gave us under an earlier version.
